FDA states Merck minimizes risk of Vioxx
 

The FDA has ordered Merck to change its marketing of Vioxx, stating that the company has minimized its safety profile. The FDA is stating that Vioxx should carry a warning about possible cardiovascular side-effects. Merck, however, continues to state that Vioxx is a safe medication, and that studies claiming a cardiovascular risk have not been conclusive.
