Prostitution laws: health risks and hypocrisy

This editorial from the Canadian Medical Association Journal urges that the prostitution laws in Canada be reformed. "Physicians should urge federal politicians to repeal all prostitution laws, as Lowman recommends, and start over again. Municipalities and public health and community physicians must work harder to protect this vulnerable population." The editorial addresses the issue of public health implications of prostitutes. Young prostitutes working on the streets in particular are at high risk of health problems.
