The Internet Workbook for Health Professionals is an easy to use manual that provides a guided tour to medical sites on the internet. Ostensibly for health professionals only, it is also useful for the general public interested in finding medical information online. The book is divided into three sections: 1. Tools of the Trade, 2. Medical Information, and 3. Professional Skills. Section 1 discusses basic internet tools including browsers, mail readers, and websites. This section is definitely for beginners. Section 2 provides an excellent overview of online medical sites, including how to search the internet for medical information. This section provides useful information even for seasoned internet users. The last section is a hodgepodge of information. The discussion of mailing lists is particularly good. A nice feature to the book is the exercises to help the reader gain needed computer and internet skills.
