Strength Training Important in Elderly Women With Cardiac Disease
TITLE: Resistance Training on Physical Performance in Disabled Older Female Cardiac Patients

METHODS: 42 elderly women with coronary heart disease were studied for 6 months. Group 1 did resistence training at an intensity of 80% of the single rep maximum. Group 2 did light yoga and breathing exercises.
CONCLUSIONS: endurance, balance, coordination, and flexibility all improved in the resistance training group (Group 1).
