Nuclear Cardiac Scans Especially Helpful in Diabetic Women

This case study includes several helpful slides on the relationship between nuclear cardiac scanning and hard event rates, especially in diabetic women. Comment: it is notable that the hard event rate in diabetic women with a normal scan is still significant at 1% to 3% a year. The research referenced, however, did not appear to include the ventricular size and function data obtained from nuclear cardiac scanning. [ Nuclear Cardiology, June 2003 ]
