Eating a Meal Prior to Tc-99m Tetrofosmin Imaging Improves Target to Background Ratio
This study found that giving patients a meal consisting of both solid food and liquids significantly improved visualization of the heart and decreased artifacts. Comment: most protocols I've seen recommend liquids; this study looked at solid food as well, and found that it helped. [ J Nucl Cardiol 2003;10:161-7 ]
