Mad Cow Disease Treatment Looks Promising
Research into using antibodies to fight brain diseases, such as variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (Mad Cow disease), is beginning to look promising. The antibiodies attach to prions (proteins in the brain) to prevent them from becoming twisted and clumping together. This research breakthrough is thought to have applications in treating Alzheimer's disease as well. [ Antibodies cripple prions ]
