Radiation Effects of Medical Imaging - a Need for Caution

this article is an excellent overview of the amount of radiation involved in medical imaging studies (see especially the table located at http://bmj.bmjjournals.com/cgi/cont...8/7439/578/TBL1) and issues that we need to think about when ordering, or undergoing a study involving radiation. Currently, the amount of radiation from natural sources every year equals the amount of radiation exposure from medical imaging (when averaged across the entire population).
