The Potential Preventability of Postoperative Myocardial Infarction
This study found that beta-blockers are underutilized in patients undergoing surgery. This is an important finding given that beta blockers greatly reduce cardiac events. The use of beta blockers is thought to be just as important as preoperative screening for coronary artery disease.
