Usefulness of gated myocardial perfusion SPECT imaging soon after exercise

[J Nucl Cardiol] this study looked at the usefulness of performing gated SPECT imaging with tetrofosmin 10 minutes after bicycle exercise stress testing. They compared imaging at 10, 30 and 50 minutes after exercise, and conclude that imaging at 10 minutes post-exercise is best to detect stunning. COMMENT: this does not address the issue of pharmacologic stress, and also does not really settle the issue of when to image after exercise stress since the statistics in this study are not very powerful. But, it does give credibility to the practice of early imaging after exercise stress testing.
