Antihypertensive Drug Therapy in Black Patients

[Annals of Internal Medicine] This review of antihypertensive therapy in black adult patients found that calcium channel blockers were the most effective at lowering blood pressure. The occurrence of diabetes increased with the use of diuretics, and cardiovascular events increased in patients on drug regimens that included ACE inhibitors.
