Staying Positive Decreases Frailty
[Psychology and Aging] Onset of Frailty in Older Adults and the Protective Role of Positive Affect. Glenn V. Ostir, Kenneth J. Ottenbacher, and Kyriakos S. Markides University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. This study looked at the association between a positive disposition and the onset of frailty. The authors found that a positive mood was protective against the functional and physical decline associated with frailty.
