A basic resistance-training program

"Resistance-training activities, such as weight lifting, build muscular strength and involve briefly exerting force and repeating contractions until the muscle tires. The health benefits of weight training are well-documented, and exercises with weights are easy to do." COMMENT: this issue of PATIENT CARE (May 2004) has an excellent series of articles on exercise.

REF: PATIENT INFORMATION: A basic resistance-training program. Patient Care May 2004;38:48-50.
