avian flu

Does anybody tell me about Bird Flu or avian flu? My father has Diabetes patients but he has control his diabetes, suddenly he has infected by bird flu which that he feel very pain and weakness. This situation is very nervous because I heard that bird flu is very dangerous diseases because my friend tells many human died from Bird flu in Australia.
