Cholesterol Medications May Reduce Risk of Colon, Prostate Cancers

Two recent observational studies have shown that the cholesterol lowering medications in the statin group may dramatically reduce colon and prostate cancer rates. One study found a greater than 50% reduction in colon cancer rates among those taking statin medications. The other study found a greater than 50% reduction in prostate cancer among men taking statin medications.
