Depression in mom ups TV time for preschoolers

Preschool aged children who's moms are depressed watch more television than children of non-depressed moms according to this study of 150 families in Vermont, USA. One of the significant side-effects of this increased time watching television was an increased risk of obesity.

This study was presented 8-Oct-2000 at the North American Association for the Study of Obesity in Quebec City, Canada
