The Internet Medical Association's Journal Club

Principles for Article Selection

  1. The Internet Medical Association is a non-profit organization that conducts the Journal Club. We follow the Fair-Use Statute in selecting articles to use in the journal club. Namely, a) the articles are strictly for educational purposes, b) the sponsoring group, the Internet Medical Association, is a non-profit organization, c) all articles selected are freely available on the Internet, with no requirement for user registration, and d) the Journal Club clearly states the origin of the journal article, with a hyperlink to the article's home page.

  2. Only peer-reviewed articles are selected.

  3. Only articles that clearly state financial conflicts of interest are selected.

  4. Articles selected are relevant to the practice of primary care medicine

  5. As of January, 2002, the primary journal meeting the above criteria is the British Medical Journal.
