Estrogen Supplementation Increases Mental Decline in Elderly Women

This study of 2808 women found that estrogen supplementation with conjugated equine estrogens increased the likelihood of a major decline in mental abilities. COMMENT: this is yet another study showing the negative effects of supplemental estrogen. Possibly, this effect upon cognition is due to the increase in clotting risk from estrogen.
